cucumber, avocado, quinoa, feta, fresh mint and parsley, toasted seeds
and a pot of vinaigrette.

A clever blend of grape varieties from the foothills of the Pyrenees. From cold winters to baking hot summers, these old block vines produce incredibly high fruit concentrated grapes - which allows a young, modern-thinking winemaker to produce this super-fresh& aromatic white.
2008 MUSCADET SUR LIE,
DOMAINE SAUPIN (FRANCE)
175ML GLASS £4.20
BOTTLE £16.30
Lower yields in the Loire over the last two years are normally a bad thing, but have actually helped here by producing bigger and fatter grapes with a much fuller flavour. It gives a dry white wine with a real acidic zip - try with something spicy.
2008 SAUVIGNON BLANC,
ROPITEAU (FRANCE)
175ML GLASS £4.50
BOTTLE £17.35
Almost New Zealand in style, this Sauvignon is bursting with gooseberry flavours with a refreshing dry crispness – and a finish that goes on forever.
This is from the La Mancha region of Spain, where wine production is on the up. A summer berry sort of a wine, deeply flavoured. Nice and smooth.
2007 ZINFANDEL, CENOBIO SALENTO (ITALY)
175ML GLASS £4.20
BOTTLE £16.30
The label is easily the least classy on the list. Luckily though, the contents more than make up for this crime against style. From the heel & the heat of Italy, the Primitivo grape is an original clone of Zinfandel. It starts with a mouth-full of red berries and ends with a touch of spice.
2005 RIOJA CRIANZA, EL COTO (SPAIN)
175ML GLASS £4.65
BOTTLE £18.40
A classically-flavoured Rioja showing the best of what the Spanish vineyards can do: full of bramble fruit, softened by the vanilla essence of the oak casks, it is surprisingly full-flavoured.
Rose
SHIRAZ, L’EMAGE
(FRANCE)
BOTTLE £14.70
One for the sun – and if it is not sunny, it’ll leave you dreaming of picnics & punting. A bright & vibrant rosé with lots of fruit to get your imagination going.
This wine was one of the rising stars in the sparkling wine world last year, and when you taste it you will see why. It has a wonderful freshness with a light, soft, round nose.
